Brookie Simonson

My Journey
Hi there! I'm Brookie Simonson, a nurse, advocate, and mom with a passion for caring for others. My professional path began with a BS in Kinesiology, followed by earning my BRN from Samuel Merritt University, where I graduated magna cum laude and received the Academic and Clinical Excellence Award—achievements I worked incredibly hard for!

My nursing career started at Stanford University Medical Center, where I was selected for their competitive nurse residency program. I worked in the intermediate ICU, caring for medical patients during some of their most vulnerable moments. This experience shaped my approach to healthcare and deepened my commitment to compassionate patient care.

Family First
After my time at Stanford, I made the decision to step away from the bedside to focus on my greatest joy and achievement—being a mom to my three amazing children. My husband and I have built a life centered around our family, and I wouldn't trade these years for anything.
Life took an unexpected turn when my son was diagnosed with a genetic disease. Suddenly, I found myself on the other side of healthcare—advocating for my child, navigating complex systems, and experiencing firsthand the challenges patients and families face. This journey transformed me into a fierce advocate and opened my eyes to the gaps in our healthcare system. What began as a personal struggle evolved into a deeper purpose. Having walked in both sets of shoes—as a healthcare provider and as a parent fighting for the best care for my child—I've gained a unique perspective that fuels my passion for helping others.

Why Storge?
The name "Storge" (pronounced STOR-gay) has deep personal significance. In Greek, στοργή  represents familiar love - the natural, instinctive affection found in family relationships,  particularly between parents and children. It's characterized by acceptance, warmth, and the  kind of love that endures through challenges.

This name honors my Greek heritage while perfectly capturing my approach to care. Inspired by  my grandmother and mother (Both namedHelen), I've integrated their values into my practice - treating clients with the  same devotion and respect I'd want for them. Naming my company "Storge" creates a beautiful full circle moment.
